Job DescriptionThe JFK is seeking a Special Education Teacher for our Substantially Separate Autism program who will:
- Develop weekly lesson plans that contain all required components.
- Deliver instruction utilizing appropriate resources, equipment, materials, technology, and instructional strategies.
- Provide differentiated instruction based on the student’s individual level of functioning and preferred learning modalities.
- Utilize ABA methodologies as needed and implement comprehensive behavior support plans.
- Provide a positive role model of appropriate and respectful interactions with students and staff.
- Develop, teach, and review clear and concise classroom rules, routines, procedures, and expectations.
- Develop a daily/weekly schedule of instructional and non‑instructional activities for each paraprofessional.
- Maintain constant and ongoing communication regarding students and all facets of the program, and train classroom assistants.
- Follow the appropriate chain of command when questions, issues, or concerns arise.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork within the designated timelines, including MCAS and MCAS Alternative portfolios, and manage behavioral crises.
Terms:
Salary and Work Year (182 days) per Unit A Teacher Contract.

Job Requirements- Required:
Massachusetts teacher license in Mild/Moderate or Severe Disabilities and experience working with children with autism. - Preferred:
Autism Endorsement, De‑Escalation/Physical Management Certification (Safety Care, CPI, etc.), familiarity with and/or experience working with diverse populations in a school setting. - At least 4 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
