Job Description

Randolph Community Middle School seeks a full‑time licensed Art Teacher to provide services to our diverse population of middle‑school aged students.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through district‑approved curriculum.
  • Document teaching and student progress, activities and outcomes.
  • Address specific needs of students and provide a safe, optimal learning environment.
  • Provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.
  • Collaborate with school personnel, parents and community agencies to improve student outcomes, develop solutions and plan curriculum.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
  • Promote equity and appreciation of diversity.
  • Maintain classroom management and high standards of student achievement.
  • Plan and deliver effective instruction to students in grades 6‑8, covering basic principles of art and its history, and artistic concepts in visual communication (drawing, painting, ceramics, design).
  • Deliver and modify art curriculum in alignment with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
  • Demonstrate creativity in preparing materials and projects for students with varying abilities.
  • Use varied teaching practices to respond to multiple learning styles, including students with IEPs and 504 plans.
  • Employ multiple assessment methods to measure knowledge and skills.
  • Foster appreciation of multicultural art education.
  • Facilitate three school‑based art shows and contest opportunities.
  • Guide students toward portfolio development.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Massachusetts teacher license in Art.
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working with students in a diverse, multicultural academic setting.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
