Position SummarySBCC is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Data Engineer to support enterprise-level analytics initiatives within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This role focuses on leveraging cutting-edge data science techniques to develop scalable, data-driven solutions that directly support critical government operations.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and deploy advanced analytics solutions using techniques such as machine learning, statistical analysis, optimization, and artificial intelligence
- Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights that support mission objectives
- Build and implement models using tools such as Python, R, SQL, and Java Script
- Apply modern approaches including natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, and predictive modeling
- Develop innovative data-driven solutions using next-generation analytics platforms and tools
- Conduct research and development to continuously improve analytical methods, processes, and technologies
- Evaluate and refine analytical procedures to ensure efficiency, scalability, and accuracy
- Partner with SBCC teams, USG personnel, and external stakeholders to deliver high-impact analytics solutions
- Present technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences through reports, briefings, and presentations
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and remain current on emerging data science tools and industry best practices
- Contribute to cross-functional teams and support collaborative problem-solving initiatives
- Support team development through effective communication, coaching, and collaboration techniques
- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance analytics capabilities and organizational effectiveness
- Build and maintain strong relationships across internal teams and external partners
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Engineering, or a related technical field
- Relevant experience: 1 year
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and apply analytical techniques
- Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline
- Experience supporting government or mission-critical environments
- Exposure to AI, NLP, deep learning, or advanced modeling techniques
Candidates with experience in the following areas will find their skills highly transferable and valuable in this role:
- Military Operations or Defense-related environments
- Technology industry experience, particularly in data, analytics, or software
- Program and/or project management, especially in complex or cross-functional settings
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and Java Script
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and data analytics tools
- Familiarity with big data environments and scalable systems
- Experience using both open-source and commercial analytics platforms
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable outcomes
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Proven ability to work both independently and in team environments
Depending on the mix of projects, this position may offer a flexible hybrid work arrangement, supporting both collaboration and work‑life balance.
- Minimum of 3 days per week onsite at Randolph Air Force Base (AFB)
- Up to 2 days per week remote, based on project needs and team coordination
- Routine local commute to and from Randolph AFB, TX
This position supports U.S. Government initiatives and requires an active Secret Clearance or the ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Salary: $70,000 - $77,500 per year
