**** What You'll Do:**•
** Prosecute Special Victim and Violent Crime Cases:
*** Represent the state in cases involving domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and other crimes against vulnerable populations in district and superior courts.
* Handle cases involving homicides, armed robberies, assaults and other serious offenses.•
** Support Victims Throughout the Process:
*** Collaborate with victim advocates to ensure survivors understand the court process, feel supported, and have access to necessary resources.
* Maintain open communication with victims and witnesses to address concerns and prepare them for court proceedings.•
** Collaborate to Build Strong Cases:
*** Provide legal guidance to law enforcement during investigations, including advice on search warrants and charging decisions.
* Work with forensic specialists, medical professionals, and social service agencies to gather evidence and develop case strategies.
* Conduct interviews with victims and witnesses, ensuring sensitivity and professionalism during emotionally charged situations.•
** Prepare and Present Cases in Court:
*** Draft motions, research case law, and develop trial strategies tailored to the complexities of special victim cases.
* Confidently present arguments in court, conduct witness examinations, and deliver opening and closing statements.•
** Participate and Train:
*** Serve as a resource for law enforcement and other community partners, offering guidance and training on issues related to special victim cases.
* Stay updated on best practices and developments in special victim prosecution through continuing education and collaboration.
