Company Overview:
A family-owned confectionery business, established in 1978, specializes in high-quality handmade candies and chocolates, offering over 3,000 unique products. They are seeking an Inventory Manager to oversee inventory control operations and support procurement activities.
Job Responsibilities:- Manage daily inventory control operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices
- Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor inventory levels to support production and operational requirements
- Collaborate with Operations, Production, Purchasing, and other departments to identify inventory needs and ensure timely availability of materials
- Partner with the Director of Operations on production scheduling, planning, and order requirements
- Develop and implement inventory control processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare monthly and year-end inventory reports and provide accurate inventory data for Finance reporting
- Monitor inventory trends and identify opportunities to reduce waste, shortages, and excess inventory
- Support procurement activities by ensuring materials and supplies are purchased and delivered within budget and timeline requirements
- Work with Purchasing to identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Oversee the Approved Supplier Program and maintain supplier documentation in accordance with SQF requirements
- Monitor supplier compliance with internal quality standards, food safety requirements, and applicable regulations
- Facilitate timely placement of purchase orders and review purchase orders for accuracy and compliance
- Partner with internal departments to resolve inventory, purchasing, and supplier-related issues
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, food safety standards, and industry guidelines
- Experience in inventory management, purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations
- Knowledge of inventory control processes, procurement practices, and supplier management
- Experience working in a manufacturing or food production environment preferred
- Familiarity with SQF, supplier compliance programs, quality standards, or food safety requirements preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, inventory management systems, and ERP systems
- Ability to interpret inventory data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements
- Experience managing supplier relationships and supporting purchasing decisions preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field preferred
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000, DOE
