The Production Operator is responsible for assisting with daily output of production goals to meet client expectations and needs and is responsible for following all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe at work environment.
Job Type: Full time, onsite
Compensation: Starting hourly rate of $19.50 an hour
Responsibilities- Operate machinery in multiple work cells, including spray drier, furnaces, screener, mixers, ovens and extruder
- Complete batch sheets to document production data
- Perform simple calculations to ensure quality of product being produced
- Safely operate fork-lift and overhead cranes, with company-provided training
- Work in confined space environment
- Follow lock out/ tag out procedures
- Follow all company work and safety rules
- Troubleshoot potential manufacturing failures or quality issues
- Follow escalation process for any concerns
- Read and interpret Safety Data Sheets and identify hazardous materials
- Follow a flexible work schedule, including unplanned overtime
- Wear proper protective equipment at all times
- Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Work may occasionally involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds.
- Utilize basic hand and power tools
- Promote Trelleborg values among colleagues and peers
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Have knowledge of working with Personal Protective Equipment such as Tyvek, respirators, safety glasses, and ear protection
- Have knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
- Basic math skills
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk or listen and use hands to operate equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and to reach with hands and arms and stoop or kneel
- Ability to tolerate weather extremes such as hot/cold environments and humidity when working in manufacturing facilities
- Where required, use Personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, steel toe shoes) in designated areas
- Proven work experience in a manufacturing setting
- Familiarity with the use of fork trucks, pallet jacks, and other necessary warehouse equipment
- Physical stamina and dexterity necessary for the work; ability to lift or move at least 40 lbs.
- Positive and team-work focused attitude. Must work well with others.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to excessive heat, fumes, industrial dust and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
