Job Summary
In this pivotal role, you will oversee complex piping installation projects, ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and serve as the Responsible License Holder (RLH) for piping operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in coordinating field crews, interpreting blueprints, and delivering high-quality, code‑compliant piping systems across diverse industrial environments.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise field crews during piping installation, repair, and maintenance activities.
- Plan, layout, and oversee the installation of piping systems in collaboration with engineers and other trades.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex piping systems including high‑pressure steam, boilers, and water heaters.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and isometric drawings to fabricate, cut, thread, and weld piping.
- Inspect, test, and repair piping systems to ensure leak‑free operation and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Sequence piping work to avoid conflicts with other trades and project activities for efficient workflow.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify safety hazards and enforce safety protocols.
- Maintain responsibility for crew safety, ensuring adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes.
- Cultivate professional relationships with clients and project stakeholders, providing excellent customer service.
- High school diploma or GED; technical or trade education preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant field experience in piping and field leadership.
- Valid Master Pipefitter license is mandatory.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in welding techniques such as TIG, MIG, and Stick.
- Experience with pipe bending and handling materials like steel, copper, and plastics.
- Strong knowledge of ASME, ASTM, and applicable plumbing/mechanical codes.
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints and perform pipe layout calculations.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, clients, and management.
- Able to work in demanding environments including industrial plants, power plants, and construction sites.
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders and lifts, and lift up to 90 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and situational awareness necessary for handling tools and navigating job sites in varying weather conditions.
