Posting Summary. Position Title GED Instructor:
English, Social Studies, Math, Science (Pooled Position). Department Workforce Development - Instructional.
The GED Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students preparing for the General Education Development (GED) test. The instructor will contribute to curriculum development and deliver lessons in one of the four core subject areas:
Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA), Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies. The role involves assessing students’ needs, creating individualized and group learning plans, and helping students acquire the skills and confidence needed to successfully pass the GED test and achieve their educational and career goals.
- Provide high-quality instruction to GED students.
- Contribute to curriculum development and deliver lessons in RLA, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, or Social Studies.
- Assess students’ needs and create individualized and group learning plans.
- Aid students in developing the skills and confidence to pass the GED test and achieve educational and career goals.

Minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. NJ Teaching Certification. - Experience
:
Prior teaching experience as a High School Teacher. - Skills
:
Demonstrated knowledge of the discipline including current developments and technologies in the related field of specialization. Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use technology in education as appropriate to the subject matter. Please be specific in stating your areas of expertise and experience. 3+ years of classroom teaching experience with non-traditional adult students preferred.
