CCM is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach courses in various areas of history. Candidates should have a passion for historical inquiry, strong teaching skills, and a commitment to student success.
All faculty positions have a primary objective to create a dynamic teaching/learning environment for our students while contributing service to the college. Responsibilities include teaching assigned courses, following the course description and outline established by the department, and potentially participating in departmental initiatives such as assessment, responding to grade submissions, and other related duties in accordance with the Adjunct Faculty collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
Adjuncts may also be asked to provide evidence of academic achievement and recognition by professional or community organizations. Teaching may include day/evening courses, online/hybrid instruction, and other instructional modalities.
- Education: Master’s degree in History (or related field) from a regionally accredited institution required. Doctorate preferred.
- Experience: Prior college or university teaching experience preferred, as is evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities.
- Skills: Opportunities may exist for candidates who can teach Early Modern Europe, the Ancient World, the Middle Ages, New Jersey History, Modern Middle East, Latin American History, and History of the African‑American Experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
