Job Summary
- This position assists and supports students in Perkins approved CTE programs by providing individualized support that leads to an increase in the number of students with earned recognized postsecondary credentials. The Retention-Completion Specialist works with the Deans to identify and support students that need assistance in a variety of areas, including academic, emotional, financial and more. This support will include developing educational plans with students and identifying a path to completion in CTE programs.
Retention-Completion Specialists will conduct on-going student outreach, connect students to additional resources as needed and follow-up with students while they are enrolled at CCM in CTE programs. Assist students with knowledge of career opportunities, including job fairs, panel discussions, and other educational activities that are outside the usual academic classroom experience. The Retention-Completion Specialist uses initiative and independent judgment in conducting various functions of the position.
Manage and communicate effectively with students, faculty, advisors, department chairpersons and program directors. The Retention-Completion Specialist will prepare and generate reports using Colleague or other software systems and document activities for tracking purposes. This position is a Grant Funded Position and ends June 30, 2027.

- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.

- Minimum of two years of experience in higher education or supportive services preferred.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook), Learning Management Systems (e.g. Blackboard), and other software systems used in higher education management. Sensitivity in handling confidential information. Attention to detail and self-motivated. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Able to manage, prioritize, and work independently. Shows initiative and exercises sound judgment in performance of assigned duties. Individual must interact in a professional manner with the college's faculty, staff, and students.
Work Hours
- Flexible – 20-24.5 hours/week.
