We’re hiring an Electrical Controls Designer to support the design and development of custom automation equipment. This is a hands‑on role focused on electrical schematics, control panel design, and system integration in Randolph, NJ or Tampa, FL.
Compensation$90‑120K (based on experience) + bonus + 8% profit sharing
Responsibilities- Maintain legacy drawings in AutoCAD
- Develop Bills of Materials aligned with project requirements
- Create panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and interconnect drawings
- Ensure compliance with UL 508A, NFPA 79, and IEC standards
- Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers
- Review drawings for accuracy and completeness
- Support fabrication and installation teams
- Maintain documentation and revision control
- 3+ years of electrical controls or automation design experience
- Experience with control panel design and electrical schematics
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relays, sensors
- Experience with EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical
- Familiarity with UL 508A, NFPA 79, or IEC standards
