Job Summary
Randolph Township, a highly regarded community in Morris County with a population of 26,504, a $50 million municipal budget, 129 full‑time employees, and a land area of 21 square miles, is seeking a full‑time Township Manager. The position will become vacant on October 30, 2026 due to the retirement of the current Manager. The Township operates under the Council‑Manager form of government pursuant to the Faulkner Act, with a seven‑member governing body and a mayor selected from among its members.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and management for the full range of municipal services.
- Collaborate, respond, and maintain respectful relationships with diverse boards, committees, volunteers, residents, and stakeholders.
- Sustain and enhance an organizational culture focused on professionalism, customer service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Advise the governing body and ensure effective communication of policies and decisions to the community.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and innovative use of technology to improve communication and service delivery.
- Experience as a local‑government leader with a proven record of successfully managing municipal services.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Advanced negotiating skills and comfort using technology to enhance services.
- Capability to work effectively with diverse groups and maintain accessibility to the community.
- Preferred: residency within the Township; may be waived.
The hiring range for this position is $210,000 to $235,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Successful candidates may be expected to relocate within a reasonable distance of Randolph Township within a mutually agreed upon period following appointment.
