Board Certified Behavior Analyst 2026/27

Rantoul City School District 137, District Wide – Rantoul, Illinois. Position opens for the 2026/27 school year (9 month district-wide position).

Starting salary ranges from $56,250.00 (0 years experience, Bachelor's degree) to $ (33 years experience, Master’s degree plus 60 credit hours).

Job Description

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in the Department of Special Education. Reports to the Director of Special Education / Assistant Director. Exempt under FLSA.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Master’s degree in School Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Education or related field.
  • Current BCBA certification.
  • Illinois teaching and/or related service certificate.
  • At least 3 years successful school experience, ideally with at‑risk or students with behavioral challenges.
  • Expert knowledge of function‑based intervention planning, Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and trauma‑informed approaches such as Conscious Discipline.
  • Advanced skill in using assessment data to inform instruction and prescribe work plans.
  • Knowledge of Registered Behavior Technician licensure requirements.
  • Preferred: ≥4 years relevant experience, Bachelor’s degree, citizenship or work visa.
Job Goal

Provide behavioral consultation and coaching to support teams in meeting individual student needs, improving academic and social competence, and achieving behavior change through evidence‑based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) practices.

Performance Responsibilities

Assessment & Evaluation
  • Collect, graph, and analyze student data from FBA and write reports summarizing results.
  • Lead consulting, collaboration, and support for school teams conducting FBAs and implementing BIPs with fidelity.
  • Complete additional assessments with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assist teams in adjusting BIPs as needed.
  • Attend IEP meetings to provide feedback on assessment results and progress.
  • Use program evaluation tools to create a quality learning environment.
  • Observe and provide feedback related to district mission, vision, and goals for programs.
Collaboration
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary and leadership teams across the district.
  • Facilitate trainings with program teams, including paraprofessionals.
  • Participate in district leadership meetings (FBA/BIP Committee, Behavioral MTSS, etc.).
  • Consult with teachers and service providers on student needs, BIPs, and IEP goals.
  • Meet regularly with administrators at Special Education and building levels.
  • Review assessment data with evaluation and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work with families and community service providers (BCBAs, SLPs, advocates, tutors).
  • Analyze trends and develop a multi‑year improvement plan.
  • Participate in the Restraint & Time Out Oversight Team.
Training and Staff Development
  • Develop and provide training on Applied Behavior Analysis principles.
  • Train staff on BIP implementation and intervention strategies.
  • Coach staff on fidelity, data collection reliability, crisis de‑escalation, and skill acquisition.
  • Provide district and building‑specific behavior training.
  • Support licensure supervision of RCS Registered Behavior Technicians.
  • Host RBT meetings as directed.
  • Participate in professional development and continuous learning.
Instruction and Program Support
  • Design data collection and monitoring systems.
  • Monitor student and program progress; provide analysis and live coaching.
  • Support classroom learning environments with behavior‑based materials and strategies.
  • Train staff in skill generalization procedures for inclusion in general education.
  • Perform duties assigned by Special Education administrators, Superintendent, and Board of Education.
Other Important Information

The BCBA position is non‑supervisory and focuses on consultation, not supervisory or evaluative duties for staff.
