RTHS is seeking a Special Education Teacher to fill out the Special Education team. RTHS offers multiple levels of special education services varying from functional life skills to co-taught classes. RTHS is described as a small urban school in a rural setting. RTHS has a very diverse student body that is celebrated as strength of the school. The faculty and staff works within a collaborative culture.

Requirements:
Illinois teacher licensure with the appropriate endorsements for special education

Salary/Benefits:
The district pays 100% of the employee's health and vision insurance premium. A voluntary dental plan is available. A well established teacher mentor program is in place. RTHS offers tuition assistance for continuing education. Teachers who work for several years in the district may also be eligible for federal student loan forgiveness. Professional development is highly encouraged and financially supported by the district.

Salary and benefits can be found in the Collective Bargaining Agreement s193.org. New hires are eligible for a relocation reimbursement-$1000.

Position Specific Benefits:

RTHS employs 2 IEP writers who can facilitate present levels, IEP goals, service placement, assessments and accommodations, and provide assistance with writing appropriate transitions goals. Meetings are scheduled by the Special Education Administrative assistance in conjunction with the case manager. We also offer 2 professional development days per teacher to write IEP's.
