Maximum Starting Salary: $ (33 Years of experience with Masters Degree plus 60 additional hours)

Reports to: Director of Special Education Coach/Inclusion Facilitator
Primary FunctionThe Special Education Instructional Coach/Inclusion Facilitator is charged with the following responsibilities:
- Improving teaching and learning
- Building and maintaining collaborative relationships
- Leading with integrity and professionalism
- Creating and sustaining a culture of high expectations
- Possesses a valid Professional Educator License;
Special Education Endorsement - Possesses or is pursuing a Master's degree in Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction or related field from an accredited college or university
- Previous experience in a teacher‑leader or coaching role preferred
- Previous experience teaching both elementary and middle school special education preferred
- Previous experience with and commitment to inclusion and co‑teaching
- Previous experience providing Professional Development for staff preferred
- Special interest/skills related to providing specially designed instruction in the general education setting
- Expertise and experience utilizing both Universal Design for Learning and differentiation in the classroom in order to meet the needs of all students
- Expertise and experience in analyzing student data in order to drive instructional decision making
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Expertise and experience implementing best teaching practices for students with various disabilities
- Basic skills in technology
- Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues, including the ability to create and nurture a positive professional community of adult learners
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
- Provide instructional leadership and support to improve performance of special education teachers and paraprofessionals
- Coach and assist teachers with curriculum development, classroom management, instructional strategies, assessment of student performance and all aspects of professional development in multiple content areas
- Improve teachers' content, management and instructional strategies to better address the needs of all students in a positive environment
- Demonstrate a working knowledge and use of instructional strategies for working with the diverse needs of students in multiple content areas
- Demonstrate a commitment to meaningful inclusion for all students through strategic support and guidance that improves academic, behavioral and social emotional outcomes for students with disabilities
- Provide explicit guidance on specially designed instruction, co‑planning, co‑teaching and co‑assessing for both special education and general education teachers
- Demonstrate leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Develop effective scheduling plans to visit and support each teacher during the year
- Facilitate collaborative co‑planning discussions with co‑teaching partners
- Assist special education teachers in data collection and progress monitoring
- Provide special education teachers and teaching assistants with strategies and activities that address IEP goals and assist IEP students in meeting Illinois Learning Standards
