Specific

- Evaluatesandassessesstudentprogressagainstinstructionalobjectives
- Possesses working knowledge of state and federal laws related to Social Work (Section 504)
- Coordinates individual and group meetings for students
- Providesanatmosphereandenvironmentconducivetotheintellectual,physical,socialandemotionaldevelopmentofeachstudenttoensuresuccess
- Manages behavioral Tier system (1, 2, and
3) - Assistsindistrictinitiatives(Ex.Bullying,Sexual Harassment,etc.)
- Makes home visits and provides resources for families
- Servesasliaisonbetweencommunityorganizationandtheschooltomeettheneedsofstudents
- Teachessocialskillslessonswithintheregulareducationclassroom
- Providesanorientation(expectations) fornewstudentswhoenrollafterthestartoftheschoolyear
- Communicatesandinteractswithstudents,parents,staffandcommunity
- Administersformalandinformaldiagnosticassessmentintheareaofsocial/emotional learning
- Workscooperativelywiththeadministrationandstafftoschedulemeetings
- Possessesknowledgeof Social Work research ,trends,andbestpractices
- Monitorthepacingofinstructionandbudgetclasstimeefficientlybyprovidingcleardirections,outlining expectations,andeffectivelybringingtoclosureinstructionalexperiences
- Utilizestechnologyforcommunication,assessment,andinformationmanagement
- Demonstrates organizational and problem-solving skills
- Maintainsregularattendanceandarrivepromptlyaccordingtoschedule
- Complieswithtimelinesforevaluations,reports,andotherassignedtasks
- Maintains confidentiality of student information
- Maintainscurrentinknowledgeofspecialeducationrulesandregulations
- Report questions/concerns to immediate supervisor
- Complieswithallapplicablelocal,state,andfederalhealth,safety,education,andrelatedrulesandregulations.
- Develops,plans,andimplementsdevelopmentallyappropriatesocialworkactivitiesforchildrenwithexceptionalneedsasspecifiedonIEPs,includingindividualandgroupcounseling
- Uses empathy in interpersonal relationships
- Provides crisis intervention as needed
- Attendsandparticipateinproblem-solving meetings,IEPteammeetings,staff meetings,andothermeetingsasassigned
- Demonstrateseffectiveleadershipinmultidisciplinaryteams
- Identifiesandanalyzestheeffectsofcultural,environmental,socioeconomic,psychosocial,medical,andlegalfactorsonastudent’seducationalachievement.
- Assistswithfunctionalbehavioralanalysesandbehavioralconsultations
- Presentsassessmentfindingsinanunderstandablemanner
- Makes clear,practicalrecommendationsforbehavioralinterventions
- Develops and implements prevention plans
- Completesapplicablepaperwork,includingIEPs,evaluation reports,progress reports,andotherrequiredforms
- DevelopsmeasurableIEPgoalsandobjectivesalignedwiththe Illinois Socialand Emotional Learning Standards
- Workswithparentgroupstofacilitatetheirsupportintheirchildren’sschooladjustment
- Linksschoolandcommunityservicesbyinitiatingreferralsandmaintainingfollow-up services
- Helpsthedistrictreceiveadequatesupportfromsocialandmentalhealthagencies
- Conducts inservice training programs
- Providesconsultationonissues,suchasfamilyfunctioning,normalchilddevelopment,alternativeprogramsfordrop-outs,delinquents,truants,etc.
- Implementsspecializedtechniques,programs,andbehaviormanagementsysteminaccordancewithrequirementsofassignedschools
- Thefollowingisthe Priority Listestablishedforsocialworkersbythe Illinois State Boardof Educationandissupportedbythe School Social Workersas RCS.

- Demonstratesstrongoralandwrittencommunicationskills.
Mental Demands:
- Abilitytocommunicate(verbalandwritten);abilitytoinstructstudents,andeffectivelycommunicatewithparentsandcolleagues.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- Abilitytouseweb-based programs,e-mail,and technology(laptop,Smart board,etc.)
Working Conditions:
- Indoor classrooms/School,exposure to:student noise,lawn mowing,music,odorsoffood,mowedgrassandpossiblecommunicablediseases.

- Willingness and ability to travel throughout county
