Position Summary

What you’ll do

Leads and develops teams by teaching, training and actively listening to associates; touring stores and providing feedback; communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations; utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising and company direction; introducing and leading company change efforts; providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicating business objectives to teams effectively.

Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model; managing and supporting customer service initiatives including community outreach; resolving customer needs and issues; developing action plans to correct deficiencies; providing process improvement leadership to ensure high-quality customer experience.

Dri ess the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing P&L statements; budgeting, forecasting and controlling expenses; ensuring alignment to sales; monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow and operational processes; developing action plans to mitigate shrink and attain sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training and mentoring; assigning duties; setting clear expectations; recognizing associates; promoting a belonging mindset; recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and growth potential.

Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with stakeholders; supporting plans to meet customer and business needs; identifying goals, building accountability and measuring progress; addressing improvement opportunities and promoting continuous learning.

Ensures compliance with company policies and ethics; supports Open Door Policy and applies these in executing business processes and practices; fosters a culture of respect and belonging and drives talent development and retention.

Act with Integrity, Serve Our Customers and Members, and Strive for Excellence by aligning with company values, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year retail experience and 1 year supervisory experience; OR 2 years general work experience and 1 year supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
  • Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing
