As a Quality Assurance Engineer
, you will be pivotal in ensuring that the highest quality rigid plastic containers are produced at Plastipak's site in Champaign, IL. Your role is essential in guaranteeing customer satisfaction through process measurement, requirements verification, data analysis, team education, and leading continuous improvement efforts within our facility.
- Analyze statistical process control data to understand process variation, initiate corrective actions when needed, and validate the implementation of those actions.
- Utilize statistical and analytical tools, as well as sample procedures, to measure conformance to process and product specifications and ensure that process conformance is consistently maintained.
- Visit customer facilities to conduct health check meetings and foster strong customer relationships.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training on quality control to team members.
- Engage in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives, contributing your expertise to drive excellence.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment, through full-time work, internships, or co-op experiences.
- A strong understanding of basic SPC (Statistical Process Control) analysis.
- The capability to interpret control charts (e.g., histograms, Pareto charts, X-MR, X-Bar/R charts, etc.).
- The ability to lead cross-functional teams in root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities.
- $55,000 - 65,000 annually, depending on your skills, experience, education, and qualifications! An Associate's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
