PositionSummary
North Point Trust Company is looking for a Trust Officer to provide administrative trust services to clients who have created South Dakota trusts. This role is well suited to someone with trust, banking, or accounting experience - but prior trust industry experience is not required. Trust administration is a specialized niche, and we invest in training motivated, detail-oriented people who are eager to learn it.
WhatYou'll Do Trust Account Administration
- Review and interpret trust documents; prepare trust summaries and maintain permanent trust files.
- Prepare annual trust reviews to confirm compliance with trust documents, proper fee allocation, and proper documentation.
- Book trust transactions in the Maui trust accounting software.
- Prepare financial statements for trusts and create/maintain note amortization schedules.
- Prepare invoices and bill clients for trustee fees.
- Coordinate the review of 1099s, 1041s, and other relevant tax reporting, working with clients' accountants to ensure timely filings and tax payments.
- Assist with preparation of annual financial statement audits and South Dakota Division of Banking audits.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with attorneys, accountants, and other professionals in handling trust matters.
Bachelor's degree required. A degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred, but we welcome candidates from any field of study who bring strong analytical and organizational skills.
Experience & Skills- Trust industry experience is a plus, but not required - we're glad to train the right person.

- In-office 4 days per week, with 1 day remote.
- Salary range of $61,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience.
- Monthly benefit stipend, which employees may apply toward optional medical and dental plan enrollment.
