Construction Materials Testing Technician

Atlas is a nationwide leader in civil engineering materials testing and geotechnical consulting services for environmental industrial and infrastructure construction projects Headquartered in Denver CO Atlas currently has over 3500 employees with offices throughout the US including Alaska & Hawaii Its no accident that Atlas creates a better experience for infrastructure and environmental projects Its how we are built with the best people in the industry with the reach and expertise to help at any and every step of the project and with a heart led approach that puts quality and safety at the center of everything we do Were just built to be better We are a great company We are seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team and support an exciting project located in Lead South Dakota The successful Tech will have an ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 certification along with 2 years of previous construction materials testing experience Job responsibilities include but are not limited to Performs construction related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing CMT Manager and Supervisory Staff Daily work 8 to 10 hours per day able to work night and weekends when required Relays information to project manager andor engineer with limited in field decision making Transports equipment test specimens andor documents to field personnel laboratory clients or other offices and provides physical assistance in equipment set up Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically Performs field quality control tests of concrete and masonry construction Performs field density testing on soil concrete asphalt and other construction materials Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks and supports other departments as necessary Follows Atlas safety policies and procedures Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs Ability to follow Atlas QC plan and SOPs Minimum requirements ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 REQUIRED 2 Years experience in construction material testing REQUIRED Valid drivers license High school diploma or equivalent Physical strength stamina and dexterity to lift and move 50 lbs stoop bend and stand throughout the course of a workday in varying weather conditions in varying terrain Motivated career oriented individual striving to learn and achieve within the construction industry Must be willing to travel near the reporting office and surrounding areas as required by assignments Works well independently
