This role works closely with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and inspectors to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, and other civil structures.

** Key Responsibilities*
* * Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities to support project schedules and budgets
* Design, review, and implement temporary works and construction means and methods with a strong emphasis on safety
* Inspect installed work, equipment, and materials; identify issues and coordinate corrective actions as needed
* Provide on-site direction and technical support to foremen, crews, and subcontractors
* Monitor project progress and prepare accurate daily reports, quantities, and documentation
* Perform quality control inspections to ensure work complies with contract documents, plans, and specifications
* Verify materials and workmanship meet project requirements and approved submittals
* Enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and proper use of PPE on the job site
* Support project cost tracking, schedule updates, and coordination with project stakeholders
* Assist with communication between the field, project management, owners, and inspectors  
** Qualifications*
* * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related engineering discipline
* Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or similar role in heavy civil or highway construction
* Strong understanding of construction methods, equipment, and materials used in civil infrastructure projects
* Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and job-site safety practices
* High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required to meet project schedules  
** Working Conditions*
* * This project is located in Platte, South Dakota. Subsequent projects will be nationally based.

* Travel between job sites may be required depending on project location.
* Work is primarily performed on active construction job sites, including highways, roadways, and heavy civil infrastructure projects.
* Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust.
* Position requires walking, standing, climbing, bending, and lifting in a construction environment.
