Description:

the primary role of the virtual design technician is to lead project implementation with vdc technology and related processes. The virtual design technician is the contact between the field, prefabrication, and the corporate office.

• coordinate all bim modeling in revit.
• able to translate 2d drawings and specs into a complete 3d/4d models.
• create prefabrication drawings that are accurate using architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical contract prints consistent with muth electric, inc. Standard procedures.
• maintain a project bim execution plan.
• study the design specifications, criteria, and the electrical specifications.
• be aware of general electrical codes that affect the design or methods.
• know of currently used construction processes.
• manipulate engineered plans for the purpose of producing legible field drawings.
• make changes to project plans after the job is complete to produce record drawings.
• keep current with changes in technology related to this position.
• maintain a free exchange of non-confidential information through-out all functions of the firm.
• keep supervisor informed of the progress of each assigned project, activities, problems, solutions and any unusual occurrences.
• attend and participate in meetings as required.
• notify supervisor immediately in the event of unusual delays in finishing a project and provide the best possible anticipated completion time.
• ensure all confidential information is maintained as confidential; and is not passed to anyone without an absolute need to know.
• cooperate with all personnel.
• recommend improvements to the supervisor that will enhance parts of the firm.
• fulfill, submit and maintain records and reports as required.
• stay current in technological changes by reading trade publications and the like, and recommend to the supervisor new material, products, tooling, equipment and processes when applicable to muth electric.
• all decision making will reflect the best interests of muth electric, inc. And not for personal gain.
• perform other duties assigned by the supervisor and/or assume other duties and responsibilities not specially outlined herein – but which are logically and properly those inherent to the virtual design technician and/or defined on other procedures.

• associate's degree (a.
  
  A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• knowledge of computer aided drafting (cad) software such as autocad, revit, navisworks and others.
• able to prioritize work.
• proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially microsoft excel, outlook and word software.
• knowledge of office administration procedures.
• ability to operate most standard office equipment.
• attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
• excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
