She also serves as a national media expert for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).
Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Physician Assistant at Lycia Thornburg, M.D. Dermatology, located in Rapid City, SD. The Physician Assistant will provide support in delivering high-quality dermatologic care, which includes conducting patient assessments, diagnosing conditions, formulating treatment plans, and performing medical procedures within their scope of practice. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting in minor surgeries, documenting patient histories accurately, educating patients about skincare and treatment options, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure the best patient outcomes.
Qualifications- Deliver high-quality medical and cosmetic dermatologic care under the supervision of a board-certified dermatologist
- Proficiency in conducting patient assessments, formulating treatment plans, and performing dermatologic procedures.
- Perform skin exams, biopsies, and manage common dermatologic conditions
- Participate in cosmetic treatments based on training and comfort level
- Document accurately and efficiently in the EMR
- Collaborate closely with the physician and clinical team to ensure exceptional outcomes
- Strong communication and patient education skills to explain treatment plans and provide skincare guidance.
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation and clinical decision-making.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented healthcare setting.
- Valid and active Physician Assistant license and certification.
- Experience or interest in dermatology is preferred.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Salary: Starting at $62.50/hour. Negotiable based on experience
