The Department of Mathematics at South Dakota Mines invites applications for a full-time Instructor, Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer of Mathematics with the anticipated start date of August 2026. This is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track, term position with benefits. A minimum of a master's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field is required. Expectations include teaching introductory undergraduate mathematics courses to engineering and science majors and participating in program and course assessment.
As the primary focus of this position is mathematics instruction, the successful candidate will have a record of excellence in teaching foundational courses (Precalculus, Trigonometry, and the Calculus sequence) for a STEM audience. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in teaching upper-level service courses (e.g., differential equations, probability and statistics, linear algebra), or in managing a campus-wide mathematics assistance center.
