Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Civil Engineer to provide technical assistance and guidance in the planning, design, and construction of infrastructure projects in both the public and private sectors. This role involves collaborating with a team to research, design, and oversee the implementation of impactful civil engineering projects while ensuring adherence to industry standards for quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources including surveys, blueprints, and GIS data for effective project development.
- Conduct research and site observations to ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Integrate advanced modeling techniques and sustainable solutions into civil engineering designs.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution, focusing on installation layouts, material calculations, and compliance documentation.
- Verify site characteristics and provide expertise on environmental and construction-related issues.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and visual data representations to communicate findings effectively.
- Assist in developing small to medium-sized projects while maintaining quality control standards.
- Conduct engineering studies and surveys to address design challenges and plan for future needs.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Make responsible, ethical decisions regarding company resources following company policies and procedures.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed based on business requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in civil engineering design and management.
- Professional Engineering License required.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices, permitting processes, and compliance with regulations.
- Proficient in construction laws and code compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with discipline-specific design software and technical writing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
- Willingness to travel occasionally based on project requirements.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and perform tasks requiring physical agility.
- Occasionally walk on uneven terrain and lift up to 25-50 pounds.
- Clear communication skills are necessary for this role.
