Job Description
ICU Registered Nurse - Critical Care Travel Assignment
Overview:
Join our team as an ICU Registered Nurse in a high-acuity, mixed-unit ICU environment that cares for complex surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma patients. This fast-paced, 39-bed unit requires experienced nurses who thrive under pressure and deliver exceptional patient care. Be part of a collaborative team where your expertise makes a direct impact on critically ill patients.
Pay Package: $2,280 Weekly
Shift: 12 hour day or night shift
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel assignments (1.5 years with significant RN experience outside ICU and management approval).
- Proficiency with Epic EMR system and IV medication management (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics).
- Experience with ventilator management, proning, hemodynamic monitoring, telemetry, and critical assessment skills.
- Ability to float to Emergency Department and PCU units if needed.
- Strong critical thinking, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT is strongly preferred.
- Certified in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC (must obtain TNCC before start).
- Comfortable working a 48-hour per week schedule, with the ability to work full shifts consistently.
- Epic charting experience required for both ICU and ED.
- Valid RN license through the South Dakota Board of Nursing or equivalent.
- Experience with complex ICU patient populations including cardiac, surgical, trauma, and neuro cases.
- Cardiac recovery experience (CABG, TAVR, post-op 24-48 hours) is preferred.
- Prior travel experience (minimum of one completed assignment).
- Must reside at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility.
- No first-time travelers; minimum of one prior travel assignment required.
- Must be willing to obtain TNCC certification prior to start.
- Willingness to work weekends and participate in every-other-weekend rotation.
- No on-call expected; holiday RTO is limited and must be approved.
- Efficiently handle patient ratios varying from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity.
- Ability to precept students and support team members as needed.
