Hospital Details

Located in Rapid City, South Dakota, the Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills is equipped with 36 inpatient medical rehabilitation beds and 18 long‑term acute care beds. As a new cornerstone of specialized care in the region, our hospital uniquely combines two levels of care under one roof. This integrated approach allows us to offer comprehensive care solutions for patients who’ve suffered a range of debilitating injuries, illnesses, surgeries, and chronic medical conditions.

At the Rehabilitation and Critical Care Hospital of the Black Hills, we are dedicated to delivering advanced treatments and compassionate care to help our patients recover and regain their independence.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the admission of patients to the hospital according to established policies and procedures, and process admission paperwork and related records.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in required data collection and reporting to facilitate payment and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison with patients’ family or responsible party at time of admission and work closely with hospital staff to ensure an efficient admission process and transition.
  • Consistently provide exemplary customer service to all patients, patient family members and hospital staff.
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a medical office and/or medical billing setting, including direct patient contact.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance procedures.
Additional Qualifications/Skills
  • Admitting or billing experience and/or previous registration experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a high degree of professionalism and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
