American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Oncology outpatient role requiring at least 2 years of oncology experience and recent Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities- Work in a medical oncology outpatient clinic setting
- Care for adult hematology and oncology patients with all cancer types including solid tumor, hematology, GYN, and brain cancers
- 80%+ of role involves phone triage, prescription refills, patient education, lab reviews, and coordination with healthcare teams
- Typical caseload includes providing education to 2-3 patients per day and managing 250 patients per day in the clinic
- Shift is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with no weekends, call, or holiday work
- No floating required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Primary responsibilities include patient education related to oral chemotherapy, phone triaging, and in-basket management
- Must be comfortable working independently and educating patients on oral chemotherapy and knowledgeable about IV chemotherapy (no medication administration required)
- Team support includes oncologists, hematologists, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, CAs/MAs, navigators, and management
- Orientation provided the first week of assignment
- Navy blue scrubs or business casual attire is required
- No local travelers accepted; must live more than 100 miles from the facility
- Active SD or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- ONS or OCN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years outpatient or ambulatory oncology nursing experience required
- At least 1 year of recent Epic EMR experience required; ambulatory Epic experience strongly preferred
- Prior travel experience of at least 1 year is required; first-time travelers not considered
