Psych RN

• Minimum Experience: 1 year
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted with >2 years experience
• Traveler Requirement: Must live 100+ miles

Patient Population

• Ages: Children/Adolescents (5–17) and Adults
• Diagnoses: Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Psychosis, Adjustment Disorder
• Notes:
  • Travelers will work with pediatric patients
  • No dementia, severe autism, forensic patients, or inmates
  • Occasional violent/aggressive patients

Required Certifications

• RN / LPN: BLS, CPI (preferred prior to start, can obtain on assignment)
• Psych Tech: BLS, CPI required prior to start

Skills Required

RN

• Physical restraints and patient take-downs if needed
• Verbal de-escalation and communication
• Medication administration (PO and injectable)
• Care plan evaluation and documentation

Technology

• Charting: EPIC
• Medication Dispensing: Omnicell

Floating

• RN/LPN may float between 3 floors at behavioral health facility

Scheduling

• Shift: 12 Hour Nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Blocked Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Possible Shift Mix:
  • 12hr: 0800–2030 / 2000–0830
  • 8hr: 0800–1600 / 1600–0000 / 0000–0830

Call

• Possible low census on-call depending on acuity
