Job Description
Fusion Medical Staffing-Cath Lab seeks a travel nurse RN Interventional Radiology for a 13‑week assignment in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Start date:
07/13/2026. The role involves pre‑procedure assessment, intra‑procedure monitoring, sedation administration, post‑procedure recovery, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team.
- Perform comprehensive pre‑procedure assessments, including review of histories and lab results.
- Educate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post‑procedure care.
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation during procedures.
- Assist physicians, ensuring proper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handling.
- Recognize and respond to complications, escalating care when necessary.
- Provide post‑procedure monitoring and recovery care, including pain management and discharge education.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, medications, and procedural details.
- Collaborate with IR technologists, radiologists, and other health professionals for coordinated care.
- Adhere to safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
- One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
- PALS or ENPC certifications.
- ACLS certification.
- RCIS/RCES certification.
- Other certifications or licenses may be required.
- Critical thinking and service excellence.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
- Computer proficiency.
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse personnel.
- Fine motor skill for manipulation during procedures.
- Capacity to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and continue concentration.
- Visual acuity and effective communication.
