Job Description

Fusion Medical Staffing-Cath Lab seeks a travel nurse RN Interventional Radiology for a 13‑week assignment in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Start date:

07/13/2026. The role involves pre‑procedure assessment, intra‑procedure monitoring, sedation administration, post‑procedure recovery, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team.

• Perform comprehensive pre‑procedure assessments, including review of histories and lab results.
• Educate patients and families about IR procedures, sedation, and post‑procedure care.
• Administer and monitor moderate sedation, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and oxygenation during procedures.
• Assist physicians, ensuring proper positioning, sterile technique, and instrument handling.
• Recognize and respond to complications, escalating care when necessary.
• Provide post‑procedure monitoring and recovery care, including pain management and discharge education.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, medications, and procedural details.
• Collaborate with IR technologists, radiologists, and other health professionals for coordinated care.
• Adhere to safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.

• One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.

• PALS or ENPC certifications.
• ACLS certification.
• RCIS/RCES certification.
• Other certifications or licenses may be required.

• Critical thinking and service excellence.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
• Computer proficiency.
• Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100lbs), push, pull, and bend.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse personnel.
• Fine motor skill for manipulation during procedures.
• Capacity to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and continue concentration.
• Visual acuity and effective communication.
