Job Description:

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse will manage a mixed unit with Med/Surg to Intermediate Care patients, including those with long length of stay. The nurse will be responsible for administering various medications, managing IV lines, and providing comprehensive care to patients with a variety of diagnoses.

Responsibilities:

• Administer oral, IV, IM, and SQ medications, titratable vasoactive drips, and perform transfusions.
• Manage peripheral IV, midline, PICC, and central lines, chest tubes, and urinary collection devices.
• Provide preventative and restorative skin and wound care.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings.

Requirements:

• 1 year nursing experience, with EPIC experience required for first-time travelers.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Comfort with Med Surg assignments and the ability to read/interpret cardiac strips and manage drips such as Heparin, Insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone.
