Job Description:
The PCU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing care to adults with varied diagnoses such as CHF, pneumonia, COPD, and more. The RN will ensure effective clinical outcomes through thorough assessments, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit.
Responsibilities:
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- IV starts and blood product administration
- Titration of vasoactive drips
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Professional bedside manner
Requirements:
- Minimum 1-year experience in PCU/Tele
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Registered Nurse licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Experience in cardiac and vasoactive drip titration
- Skills in catheter insertion and management

Experience:
2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferred If they have 1.5 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel, please have CRT send to management team for approval Will you accept a first-time traveler? No. Minimum one prior travel assignment Traveler must reside >100 miles outside of facility Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Patient Types:
Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma Diagnoses include: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this – given to permanent staff Patient Ratios: RN: 1:1, 2:1, 3:1
