Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the PCU is responsible for delivering nursing care to adult patients with a variety of clinical conditions. This position requires effective communication, clinical judgment, and adaptability while working in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care for adults with a variety of diagnoses, including CHF, ARF, DKA, and more.
• Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation and vasoactive drip titration.
• Administer blood products and manage IV starts.
• Conduct thorough physical assessments and maintain effective communication.
• Float between departments as needed, assisting in ICU and Telemetry.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience; approval required for less than 1.5 years.
• Registered Nurse (RN) certified by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
• Skilled in catheter insertion and management, insulin drips, and chest tube maintenance.
