- Shift: 12-hour shifts

Hours:
36 hours/week (3×12s)
- Minimum 1.5 years of general nursing experience
- At least 1 year of PCU experience
- First-time travelers accepted (must have 2+ years RN experience
)
Mixed acuity unit including Intermediate Care, Telemetry, and Med-Surg patients:
Common cases include:
- MI (NSTEMI & STEMI)
- CHF
- Dysrhythmias
- Pacemaker malfunction
- Post-cardiac cath
- Post-CABG / post open-heart surgery
- Post TAVR / EP studies
- Stroke backup & medical overflow
Admissions from:
- ED
- Direct admits
- Post Cath Lab
- RN Ratio:
Typically 1:4 - Can be 1:3 depending on acuity
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Graduate of an approved RN nursing program
- South Dakota RN license
- PCU / Step-Down level nursing
- Cardiac procedural recovery (CABG, TAVR, post cath)
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Chest tube management
- MI pharmacology
Experience with
titrated cardiac drips
:
- Cardizem
- Amiodarone
- Nitro
- Levophed
- Dopamine
- Heparin drips
TNK administration preferred
Unit Support- CNA: 1:5–8 ratio
- Charge Nurse:
Unassigned - Phlebotomy:
Yes - Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
- Tele Tech:
Continuous monitoring - Hospitalist:
In-house 24/7
- Epic EMR
- Alaris Pumps
- Omnicell
Possible float to:
- General PCU
- MS/Tele
- ICU (for PCU-level patients only)
- 2 partial education days
- 3 × 12-hour unit shifts
- Weekend Rotation:
Every other weekend - Call:
None - Holiday Rotation:
Every other holiday
- Scrub Color:
