DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an RN for Endoscopy requiring 2 years of Level 1 or 2 trauma experience and a South Dakota or compact RN license.
Details- Work in a GI/Endoscopy unit with 4 endoscopy rooms, 20 Pre-Op bays, and 14 PACU bays
- Patient population includes upper and lower endoscopy, advanced procedures such as EUS, EBUS, and ERCP, EGD, and colonoscopy
- Provide pre and post recovery care (Phase I and II) including some ICU level care
- Patient ratios include ENDO 1:1, Pre-Op 1:2, PACU Phase I 1:1-1:2 based on acuity, and PACU Phase II 1:2-3
- Anesthesia provides 100% of sedation for procedures
- Uses Epic charting system along with ION robot, Omnicell, and Alaris equipment
- 12-hour variable shift schedule with weekend rotation every 3rd weekend
- On-call responsibilities include one overnight per week (7p-7a) with 15 minute response time and every 3rd weekend
- Floating as needed to Pre-Op, PACU, or Floor as helping hands, but never to Main OR as primary RN
- Active RN license (South Dakota or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years RN experience in a Level 1 or 2 trauma setting required
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
- Endoscopy experience required, including advanced procedures such as EUS, EBUS, and ERCP
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
- 2 references dated within 1 year required for consideration
- Support team includes 6 RNs/Endo Techs on the unit plus anesthesia support
- 1 week facility and unit orientation provided
- Holiday coverage required for 2 of 4 major holidays
- Time off requests require manager approval; staff may volunteer for low census without pay
- Scrubs provided and free parking available
- First-time travelers not accepted without prior approval via email
- Permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers must live more than 100 miles from the facility; no local candidates accepted
