American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring 2 years minimum coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral experience at a Level II Trauma Center.
Requirements- Active RN license (SD or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases required
- Skilled in critical patient assessment, vasoactive and sedation drug administration, sterile technique, and air management
- Experience with Laser and Lithotripsy Atherectomy, Cardiac Cath lab and Peripheral IV skills required
- Experience with devices including IABP, Impella, Rotoblator, and Penumbra required
- Completion of an approved nursing education program required
- Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab with 2 Cath labs and 2 Hybrid peripheral/OR suites
- Treat patients with coronary artery disease, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, complex total occlusions, valvular disease, renal disease, carotid stenosis, limb salvage, peripheral stenosis, and thrombosis disease
- Perform and support diagnostic cath procedures, Impella insertion, and LVAD insertions
- RN to patient ratio of 1:1
- 12-hour variable shifts with day/night rotation (typically 4 weeks days and 2 weeks nights in a 6-week period)
- Q4 weekend rotation required
- On-call required 1-2 days per week from and every 4th weekend from Friday 1630 to Monday 0600
- No floating required
- Charts in EPIC (required) and Epic Cupid (preferred), with Alaris and Omnicell also used
- Facility is a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, Primary Stroke and Chest Pain Center, and teaching hospital pursuing Magnet status designation
- Charge nurse support available Monday through Friday,
- 4 days of orientation (10-hour shifts)
- Possible holiday coverage of 1 holiday per assignment
- Time off requests must be approved through the Manager
- Procedural scrubs provided
- Free parking available
- First-time travelers considered if very experienced in coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler
- Facility is known to be traveler-friendly and frequently renews travel contracts
