Postdoctoral Researcher
The Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at South Dakota Mines is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher. This is a full-time, benefited position. The Postdoctoral Researcher supports the department's and institution's objectives by advancing cutting-edge electromagnetic sensor research, strengthening externally funded research activities, contributing to student training, and enhancing innovation and technology development in engineering and applied science. This position will be responsible for conducting independent and collaborative research in electromagnetic sensor systems, including theoretical analysis, numerical modeling, AI-assisted sensing algorithm development, and experimental validation.
Qualifications:
- An earned PhD degree at the time of hire in the field of Electrical Engineering and with expertise in applied electromagnetic and microwave imaging algorithm development.
- 3 years of experience in applied electromagnetics.
- Familiar with FEKO/HFSS/CST, ADS, and Matlab.
- Experience in antenna design, fabrications, and measurements.
- Ability to analyze complex data and generate microwave images.
- Strong laboratory skills and hands-on experience with experimental setups.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities.
