OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Sales Manager to lead our sales team and drive vehicle sales at our dealership. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the automotive industry, and a proven track record in sales management. This role involves developing strategic sales initiatives, managing customer relationships, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets through effective team oversight and client engagement.
This position contributes to the success of the dealership by successfully achieving sales goals and objectives relevant to the components of the dealership strategic plan.
- Manage all aspects of the new and used car departments, including dealer trades, wholesales, retail sales, purchasing, and marketing activities.
- Hire, Train, and mentor sales staff to achieve sales targets and build a strong team. Coach and mentor all sales staff to achieve all OEM, dealer KPI's and CSI mandates for sales departments, driving performance and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate strong closing abilities and work effectively with lenders to secure financing options for customers.
- Determine monthly and annual forecasts for unit sales and gross profit to guide departmental financial performance.
- Utilize all company databases and software according to company trained processes and procedures to maintain accurate records and efficient operations.
- Address customer complaints and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing effective and timely solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of new product features, accessories, and processes to effectively inform and assist customers and sales staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the department and dealership.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Automotive sales in dealership sales environment is necessary.
- 3-5+ years of vehicle drive sales required
- Must understand and stay current with federal, state, and local regulations affecting operations and ensure compliance.
- Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, employees, and vendors.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to calculate ETA of product by giving time frame in date and clock time format.
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required. must have a clean driving record and be able to pass an MVR and background check.
