Applicant Requirements- Current part‑time or full‑time student (minimum 6 credit hours) in upcoming semester or immediately preceding semester.
- Enrolled as part‑time/full‑time student at a college, university, or technical institute at time of application.
- By the start of the internship, should have completed one year (nine months) of chosen program.
- Preference may be given to applicants with junior/senior standing, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
This position’s primary duty includes developing and teaching programs related to fishing and aquatic education. The intern will also develop and lead other programs related to archery, hunting, and outdoor skills classes under the supervision of a campus programming coordinator. The intern may create new programs with opportunities to recruit, retain, and reactivate sportsmen and women. Experience with fishing is preferred but not required;
training will be provided. The intern will be responsible for completing any assigned tasks related to class preparation, coordination, development, and general maintenance both indoors and outdoors of the campus. The internship runs from August to December. Interns are encouraged to work 20+ hours and up to 40 hours as schedules allow.
Experience in the outdoors and superior organization skills are preferred.
