DescriptionThe Physical Security Specialist will independently perform a broad range of physical security functions associated with SCIF operations, accreditation, inspections, access control, alarm management, security documentation, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will help ensure Government secure facilities remain fully compliant with applicable physical security requirements and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities- Execute visitor control procedures for designated SCIF facilities.
- Coordinate with Government security organizations to support SCIF reaccreditation activities.
- Inspect and monitor accredited SCIF physical construction and report facility deficiencies requiring corrective action.
- Maintain Fixed Facility Checklists (FFC) and TEMPEST-related documentation.
- Validate facility changes and modifications for compliance with approved security guidelines.
- Update and maintain physical security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Emergency Action Procedures (EAPs).
- Conduct and document monthly physical security inspections and quarterly alarm testing activities.
- Serve as a liaison between security offices, facility managers, and security stakeholders.
- Manage facility alarm monitoring programs and maintain access authorization records.
- Administer security documentation, inventories, inspections, and reporting requirements.
- Perform required inspections and operational testing of intrusion detection and alarm systems.
- Program and maintain security access systems, security codes, and locking mechanisms.
- Maintain and audit security container accountability records and associated security forms.
- SCIF operations and physical security administration.
- Access control programs and visitor management procedures.
- Facility accreditation and compliance activities.
- Physical security inspections and audit support.
- Alarm monitoring systems, intrusion detection systems, and facility security controls.
- Security documentation management and recordkeeping.
- Independent problem-solving and coordination with multiple security stakeholders.
