At Site Work Specialists, a pipelayer shoots grades, figures elevation, set-up pipe laser, installs PVC and concrete pipe. The pipe layer also backfills and operates a roller, skid loader, jumping jack, and shovel. The position’s skill set is continuously increasing by working with an exceptional team that prides itself on doing some of the finest and most challenging projects in the northern plains region.
Pay: $22 - $28 per hour

- Completes daily walk around checks on equipment
- Daily servicing of equipment (lube hydraulics, etc.)
- Grease assigned machine daily
- Checking and figuring grade and reading grade stakes
- Keeping cab and floors of equipment free of trash
- Other tasks outside of equipment operation as directed by supervisor; even it is below your skill level

Job Requirements and
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience (will consider less than 6 months if the candidate has completed a recognized training program)
- After 2 years of experience, must get state and city pipelayer license within 6 months
- General knowledge of pipe fittings and installation procedures
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and random employee pool drug/alcohol testing
- Must have personal transportation to and from job sites, including out-of-town work
- Must arrive on time to job site fit for duty for required shift and have personal protective equipment (PPE) and necessary tools with you.
- Attend all safety meetings and maintain safe job site practices following company policy
- Wear and maintain PPE as directed by supervisor and safety team, including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, and high visibility vests
- Willingness to learn and master new tasks, duties, and responsibilities
- Pay attention to job details to provide an acceptable uniform product
- Identify and communicate any job site hazards
- Safely and correctly operate all equipment and manual/power tools. Do not operate any equipment or tools that you have not been trained to use properly
- Keep all tools in good, clean, and operating order
- Demonstrate and promote safety and proper housekeeping on all job sites and shop
- Display a positive attitude towards the company, fellow employees, and customers
- Be responsible for working unsupervised and complete work as directed
- Willingness to travel out-of-town
- Work overtime as required, including some weekends
- Maintain acceptable personal hygiene
- Dress appropriately for working conditions

Physical Requirements- Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 75 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift
- Ability to safely climb up and down ladders
- Ability to work alone once instructions have been given
- Able to complete a full day's assignments involving one or more of the following:
Standing, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers - Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment and any other safety-related equipment
- Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow, depending on the job location
