Senior Software Engineer

Position mission:
Lead application and middleware sustainment, system modification, advanced debugging, test validation, and post-deployment support for FMWorkFlow and associated technical components. Duties:
- Analyze application and system modifications required to sustain FMWorkFlow.
- Design and implement corrective engineering changes.
- Support Web Sphere middleware and DB2 application integration.
- Diagnose application, middleware, interface, and configuration failures.
- Perform advanced log analysis and debugging.
- Provide Tier III engineering support for complex incidents.
- Develop, modify, or maintain software components and supporting configurations as assigned.
- Support application compatibility with Windows/Linux, DB2, Web Sphere, and the underlying infrastructure.
- Conduct technical testing and verification of changes.
- Validate patches, updates, enhancements, and corrective changes in the controlled development/test environment.
- Support test-data management and test-result documentation.
- Verify production readiness before deployment.
- Conduct postdeployment validation and short-term sustainment of newly deployed capabilities.
- Support Cyber Ark integration or PAM-related debugging when assigned.
- Maintain application, interface, configuration, test, deployment, and operating documentation.
Mandatory certification:
- DoD 8570 IASAE Level I
- DoD 8140 work role 632-Intermediate
Requirements:
- Personally developed or modified software supporting an operational enterprise system.
- Web Sphere middleware administration, development, integration, or troubleshooting.
- Application integration with DB2.
- Advanced debugging and log-analysis examples.
- Tier III production support.
- Controlled development/test and production-promotion experience.
- Patch, upgrade, interface, or compatibility testing.
- Formal change control and post deployment validation.
- Experience maintaining mission-critical or high-availability applications.
- Experience with IBM Tool Suite or FM Workflow experience
Anticipated start:
September 28, 2026 Primary work location:
Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. Occasional work at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
Work schedule:
An eight-hour shift scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time, Monday through Friday. The team must collectively provide overlapping coverage during that window. COOP support may be required, but work will remain within a 40-hour workweek unless the Contracting Officer authorizes otherwise. Project Length:
Up to 4.5 years
