Our client is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer - Process Leader for a long-term opportunity based in the Raritan, NJ area. This Sr. Principal engineer will be joining a leader in the medical device/pharmaceutical industry and be responsible for leading process design efforts from modeling through to pilot scale and qualification, including technical reviews across multiple projects. They will be expected to collaborate with external suppliers, CDMOs and manufacturing facilities to develop processes to drive selection of lab scale and pilot scale equipment for the biosurgery division.
The goal of this project is to join a clean sheeted project within the polymer manufacturing space to drive process and product characterization to ensure rigorous technical understanding meets scale-up metrics and KPIs (such as scrap, cost and quality). Other responsibilities will include driving execution of Learning Plans, seamlessly collaborating with Supply Chain as well as driving peer reviews for process design.
Other beneficial qualifications include:
Experience in powder handling, filling, mixing, transport, isolation, polymer synthesis and reaction, developing protocols and writing completion report and in vitro and ex vivo methods for characterizing prototypes and products. This opportunity will require 20% travel domestically and potentially internationally. This will turn into a long term opportunity with the employer and upon full time hire cash bonus and pension will also be provided.
- Lead process design efforts from modeling through to pilot scale and qualification, including technical reviews across multiple projects
- Collaborate with external suppliers, CDMOs and manufacturing facilities to develop processes. Drive selection of lab scale and pilot scale equipment.
- Drive process and product characterization to ensure rigorous technical understanding meets scale-up metrics and KPIs (such as scrap, cost and quality)
- Lead raw material suppliers through raw material iterations, correlating to product design window
- Drive execution of Learning Plans, seamlessly collaborating with Supply Chain
- Peer review, coach and develop earlier in career engineers with respect to Process Design
