Johnson & Johnson Med Tech Surgery is currently recruiting for a Senior Technology Engineering Manager to join the Technology, Strategy, & Innovation team within Wound Closure & Healing Global Technical Operations!
The Senior Technology Engineering Manager will lead a global team of technical experts to deliver transformational improvements in manufacturing technology, resolve complex supply chain technical issues, and carry out the strategic vision of the Wound Closure & Healing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads team in translating manufacturing process requirements into scalable, robust technology solutions and provides oversight to innovation stage-gate process, ensuring alignment from concept through deployment
- Develops and deploys equipment design standards and equipment introduction norms, establishing prerequisites for capital investment approval
- Manages relationships with key equipment suppliers and defines global purchasing standards to drive consistency, quality, and cost efficiency
- Serves as global machine safety champion, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across sites
- Leads team in support of complex base business and project issues related to manufacturing technology across the WCH supply chain
- Coaches team in development of technical performance metrics and dashboards (yield, process capability, cycle time, OEE, etc.) for assigned technology platforms
- Participates in WCH business planning cycle and contributes to long range investment plan
- Reviews and approves design packages, validation documents (IQ/OQ/PQ), purchase orders, CAPA records, and other business documentation
- Provides oversight to global digital and automation strategy
- Ensures that team members follow all regulatory and company guidelines related to Quality, Compliance, EHS&S, and Financial reporting
Qualifications
Education:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in an Engineering field is required. Advanced degree (M.S. or M.B.A.) is preferable.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in a business or technical role is required
- Experience in supervising engineers and technical professionals
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, etc.) is preferred.
- Proficiency in problem solving methodologies (Six Sigma, RCPS, Kepner Tregoe, PCDA, etc.)
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence with and without authority.
- Excellent planning and organization skills
- Preferred:
- Knowledge of industrial control systems (PLC/DCS), robotics, servomotors, instrumentation, vision systems, SCADA networks, and/or MES systems
- Direct experience in specification and design of new manufacturing equipment
- Lean, Six Sigma, and/or FPX certifications
- Track record of innovation
