DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Sr. Manager, Transfer Pricing & Disputes, Tax, located in Raynham, MA or West Chester, PA or Raritan, NJ or Leeds, United Kingdom.
This role provides global leadership for tax planning and tax controversy matters across DePuy Synthes. The Sr. Manager, Transfer Pricing & Disputes, Tax partners closely with Finance, Legal, and regional tax teams to design and execute effective global tax strategies, manage tax audits and disputes, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position plays a critical role in protecting the company's financial position while supporting business growth and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead global tax planning initiatives to support business strategy, operational changes, and long-term growth objectives.
- Manage global tax controversy matters, including audits, inquiries, appeals, and dispute resolution with tax authorities.
- Partner with Legal and external advisors to assess tax risks, develop defense strategies, and resolve disputes efficiently.
- Provide technical tax guidance on complex transactions, restructurings, and intercompany arrangements.
- Collaborate with regional and local tax teams to ensure consistent application of global tax policies and positions.
- Monitor changes in global tax legislation and assess potential impacts to the business, recommending mitigation strategies as needed.
- Support financial reporting processes related to tax reserves, uncertain tax positions, and audit disclosures.
- Drive continuous improvement in tax processes, documentation, and governance to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field (required).
- Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or MBA (preferred).
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Typically 8–10 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or a combination of both.
- Demonstrated experience leading global tax planning initiatives and managing tax audits or disputes.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and international tax principles, including transfer pricing and cross-border matters.
- Proven ability to interpret complex tax regulations and translate them into practical business guidance.
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, and business teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting a global, matrixed organization within a regulated industry.
- Prior experience managing external advisors and tax authorities.
- Exposure to tax planning related to mergers, acquisitions, or business transformations.
- CPA, JD, or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience driving process improvements or tax governance initiatives.

Up to 20%, domestic and occasional international. - Certifications:
CPA, JD, or similar credentials preferred.
