Overview
Agile Scrum Master — Raritan, NJ — Contract
Responsibilities- Deep understanding of Agile principles and practices including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
- Facilitate the Agile Release Train (ART) events and processes, assist teams in delivering value, and drive relentless improvement.
- Act as a servant leader and coach for the ART; manage Scrum processes by coordinating with the Scrum Team and other Scrum Masters, participating in-person onsite Scrum events (minimum 3 days per week).
- Engage and manage relationships with stakeholders including product owners, team members, and external partners.
- Facilitate economic decision-making by helping with feature and capability estimation and roll-up to the value stream and portfolio level.
- Coach teams on following Agile/Scrum processes; support software development practices, Agile engineering, and Dev Ops concepts.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies:
User Story management, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, capacity planning, etc. - Facilitate meetings, workshops, and ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives) and help teams reach consensus during discussions and decision-making.
- Identify and foresee risks and impediments; guide the Scrum Team to resolution and maintain transparency in reporting metrics (e.g., velocity, burn-down charts).
- Manage the product backlog, refine user stories, and perform capacity planning.
- Promote adoption of Agile best practices and foster a mindset of learning, collaboration, and experimentation.
- Coach team members on Agile practices and help their growth within their roles; encourage continuous improvement through Sprint Retrospectives.
- Ensure alignment with Customer Ways of Working, especially with GXP-validated systems; adapt Agile practices accordingly.
- Track team progress and performance through metrics and ensure transparency in reporting.
- Scrum Master certification is preferred.
- Experience in Life Sciences/CPG industries is required (GxP experience required).
- Experience in Agile tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong ability to facilitate meetings, workshops, and ceremonies; ability to foresee risks and impediments and guide resolution.
- Ability to analyze and report on team performance metrics (velocity, burn-down charts) and use data to drive improvements.
- Ability to take and understand commitments to deliver the product on time.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Agile specialization and project management experience.
- Experience with Agile Release Train (ART) coordination and coordination with multiple Scrum Masters.
- Knowledge of software development processes, agile engineering practices, and Dev Ops.
