Alation Sme

Design, build and configure Alation applications to meet business process and application requirements. The Alation Sme is responsible for the end-to-end administration, configuration, and continuous optimization of the Alation data catalog platform. Design and implement data governance operating models, including data ownership, stewardship, and accountability. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for data governance, cataloging, and metadata management. Translate these into functional specifications for Alation.

Define and implement operating models, policies, and standards. Establish data ownership and stewardship models to ensure data assets are accurately categorized and trusted. Develop training programs and onboarding materials for data stewards and business users to drive catalog adoption and data literacy. Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to communicate complex technical info to non-technical audiences. Implement Alation best practices and recommend improvements.

Partner with data governance, data management, and IT teams to ensure that Alation aligns with broader data strategy and governance frameworks. Liaise with business users, data stewards, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that the platform meets business needs.
