Vulnerability Management Specialist
Act as the central point of contact for all vulnerability management activities pertaining to Server Operating System and Applications.
Creating/grooming Jira Stories for enhancing configuration management work using Chef.
Updating Cookbooks for Configuration Management in Linux.
Categorize vulnerabilities into groups – e.g., Mitigate via OS Patching, App TOO to mitigate, App TOO to authorize TS team to include in “mass” mitigation”, etc.
Coordinate with security & OS teams to gather, analyze, and classify vulnerabilities based on severity and potential impact on the applications and operating systems.
Collaborate with Application owners, System administrators, Application vendors, OS vendors and Development teams to assess business risk and technical impact.
Prioritize vulnerabilities and lead efforts to design and recommend remediation and mitigation strategies.
Track vulnerability status, remediation timelines, and compliance metrics and report to stakeholders as per agreed SLA.
Facilitate communication between security, infrastructure, development, and BU teams to ensure alignment on risk and resolution paths.
Continuously improve the vulnerability management process, including tool integration, scanning cadence, and reporting workflows.
Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
