Senior Manager, R&D Procurement, Biomarkers Category (may be based in Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Beerse, Belgium)
Position Overview

• Develop, lead, and manage the Biomarkers category strategy supporting Innovative Medicine R&D Clinical Development.
• Translate scientific/clinical needs into market-informed strategies, supplier strategies, sourcing approaches, contracting pathways, and governance models to enable access to emerging biomarker technologies and deliver procurement value, quality, compliance, and speed.
• Partner with Biomarker Development, Clinical Trial teams, Therapeutic Area stakeholders, Partnerships/Vendor Management, Legal, Finance, Quality, Data Science/Digital, Global Services sourcing, and other Procurement teams.

• Exploratory biomarker testing services and custom biomarker assay work by external labs.
• Primary/secondary biomarker assay services (directly or via Central Labs).
• Companion diagnostics and assay-related services.
• Technology platforms: molecular/cellular technologies, immunoassays, pathology, NGS, digital pathology, multi-omics, and emerging capabilities.

• Determine global business needs; develop/refresh category strategy (guidance, supplier segmentation, preferred vendor models, governance, contracting plans).
• Identify market insights/benchmarks; develop sourcing approaches balancing supply, quality, service, cost, innovation, compliance, and speed.
• Support RFx processes, market refreshes, evaluations, and negotiations.
• Lead supplier relationship management and governance; mitigate supply/market/regulatory/geopolitical/technology risks.
• Deliver savings/cost/cash flow and traceable impact; drive operating model execution, scorecards, milestone tracking, and use approved digital/analytics/GenAI tools.

• Education:
  
  Required Bachelor’s degree;
  Preferred Master’s/advanced degree in sciences, business, supply chain, procurement, or related.
• Experience/Skills (required): 8+ years related experience; business acumen; influencing; senior-executive leadership/collaboration; strong communication/presentation; procurement fundamentals (spend/category/supplier/negotiation); learning agility; cross-functional project management.
• Preferred: pharmaceutical/Med Tech/clinical development/lab services/diagnostics/CRO experience; biomarkers/companion diagnostics/assay development/central labs; cross-geography supplier experience; data/analytics/GenAI for sourcing/contracting/spend/supplier segmentation; category strategy refresh experience; partnering across business, scientific, regulatory, quality, finance, legal, procurement.
