Senior Principal Scientist, Data Science RWE

Role

Lead scientific and technical expert in Real-world Evidence (RWE) within Johnson & Johnson's Innovative Medicine division.

Oversee RWE project portfolio, develop best practices, mentor team, and deliver actionable insights to support regulatory and clinical decision-making.

• manage RWE studies including study design, data feasibility, analysis, programming, and interpretation
• create study protocols and statistical analysis plans
• lead efforts to mitigate biases using diverse RWD sources
• develop and maintain tools for project acceleration
• partner with therapeutic area scientists to deliver RWE solutions

• Ph.D. in epidemiology or biostatistics
• 5+ years in biopharma, healthcare, or consulting
• expert coding skills in R, Python, or SAS
• strong experience with RWD (EHR, claims, registries)
• adept in data extraction, cleaning, and bias mitigation techniques
• excellent communication skills

• familiarity with drug discovery, clinical development, especially in oncology, Immunology, or Neuroscience
• experience with regulatory submissions

• focus on external control arms, hybrid studies, comparative effectiveness, post-hoc RCT analysis
• role involves regulatory interactions

multiple US sites; role likely hybrid with some travel.
